Historic Bardstown, Kentucky isn’t known as the Bourbon Capital of the World® for nothing. With nine unique distilleries within 16 miles of downtown, there is nowhere else in the world you’d rather be on National Bourbon Day, June 14, than right here. In fact, we’re so excited for National Bourbon Day that we’d like to extend our celebration to three days! Come join us in Bardstown from Friday, June 14 to Sunday, June 16 and experience our historic distilleries, legendary bourbons, and endless Southern charm. Lux Row Distillers has two very special days planned for our National Bourbon Day Celebration! On Saturday, June 15, they are providing their Lux Row Premium Experience from 10:30 am – 12 pm. This is a 1.5 hour immersive tour that includes 5 premium tastings, one of which is in the warehouse. Also included is a Lux Row rocks glass. They will do this same tour on Sunday, as well, at 12:30 pm. Tickets for the Lux Row Premium Experience are $22 and may be purchased here.
From 12:30 pm – 4 pm on Saturday, Lux Row will be offering Flights, Cocktails, and Music on their gorgeous patio. Guests get to enjoy the Lux Row scenery while sipping Kentucky Mules and listening to local musicians. Head Distiller John Rempe will be on-site for bottle signings! You do not need to purchase tickets for this event.
Heaven Hill Distilleries will be hosting their event, A Cure Under Construction, on Friday, June 14, from 10 am – 3:30 pm. This intimate event supports Flaget Cancer Center’s Project Hope. Start your morning with an exclusive tour of the Heaven Hill plant, including some sites seldom seen by the public. After, you will be taken to the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History for lunch and a special high-end bourbon. Head back to Heaven Hill and enjoy a rare barrel proof tasting, then dip your very own bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel! Transportation to and from the Oscar Getz Museum is provided. Space is limited. Tickets are $250 per person and will be available soon.
Historic Barton 1792 Distillery will be offering free tours on National Bourbon Day, Friday, June 14, as well as Saturday, June 15. The Barton Tradition tours run from 9 am – 4 pm on Friday and Saturday. Tours begin on the hour on Friday and on the half hour on Saturday. Join them for a free tour!
Barton 1792 Distillery will also be doing more to celebrate National Bourbon Day. Those details are still being finalized. We’ll release them as soon as we know more.
Bardstown Bourbon Company and their incredible restaurant, Bottle & Bond Kitchen and Bar, will have a National Bourbon Day celebration featuring music, special cocktails, bottle signings, samples, and much more! The famed Maker’s Mark Distillery in historic Loretto will be offering FREE tours on National Bourbon Day – Friday, June 14. This doesn’t happen often so take advantage! Tours on Friday can be booked from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm.
Also, their great Dinner Series with Chef Newman Miller will be held Saturday evening, June 15, at Star Hill Provisions on the distillery grounds. Tickets are $100 each and include an optional distillery tour in advance of dinner, a three-course communal dinner, and paired cocktails. Those tickets can be purchased here.
The Jim Beam American Stillhouse in historic Clermont, just outside Bardstown, will have the live cover band Caribou playing on National Bourbon Day, Friday, June 14. They will also have a local Kentucky ice cream truck on hand with Jim Beam-inspired ice cream flavors!
The Jim Beam American Stillhouse will also offer their Guided Distillery Tour on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15. You may purchase those tickets here.
Bardstown’s newest distiller, Preservation Distillery, will give tours on Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15, from 10 am – 4 pm on the hour. They will also provide tours on Sunday, June 16, from 11 am – 3 pm on the hour. Click here to book your spot.
Bernheim Forest will host their second Feast at the Feet of Giants event on Saturday evening, June 15, at 6 pm. This is a progressive-style dining and bourbon tasting event with optional transportation from Louisville included in the ticket price. For additional event info and pricing, click here.
The famous Stephen Foster Story Drama will have just opened the week before the National Bourbon Day Celebration. It’s a great weekend to go see the show. There will be a show on Friday evening, June 14, a matinee and evening show on Saturday, June 15, and an evening show on Sunday, June 16. To purchase tickets, click here.
Additionally, any Chamber Mixer attendee can present their ticket stub at the show during National Bourbon Day Celebration weekend and receive a complimentary bourbon cocktail, The Beautiful Dreamer featuring Evan Williams bourbon.
The famed Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History will be open for tours on National Bourbon Day, Friday, June 14 from 10 am – 5 pm. They are also open for tours on Saturday, June 15 from 10 am – 4pm and Sunday, June 16 from 12 pm – 4 pm. Go check out the Prohibition exhibit, on loan from the Frazier Museum in Louisville. Very good!
The famed My Old Kentucky Dinner Train has four excursions still for sale, two on Friday and two on Saturday, of National Bourbon Day weekend. One of these excursions is their awesome Bourbon Excursion, perfect for National Bourbon Day weekend. The Bourbon Excursion is 2.5 hours through the beautiful central Kentucky countryside, a gourmet four course meal, and a tasting of bourbon led by a master distiller! The Kentucky Bourbon Festival will be hosting their Stave & Thief Certified Bourbon Steward training course on Wednesday, June 13, from 6 pm – 9 pm. Come join the KBF to expand your knowledge and increase your confidence about all things bourbon. Cost is $75 per person and tickets can be booked here.
